When you have a new website, it is likely that only you will know how to find it…this is not ideal especially when you want to bring in customers to your shop, or to peruse your services! One way to get your site more visible online is to engage in some SEO.
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation. This is a series of procedures to help get websites seen on Google and other search engines, mainly by making little adaptations to the back end code of the site, and optimising the content to make it more search engine friendly.
SEO experts fall into one of two camps – they are either what is referred to as “white hat”, which means they do everything exactly the way Google wants them to do things, or they may be “black hat” which means they do some SEO tools which are deemed as being not great for a website, or unethical.
The ideal SEO agency uses mainly whitehat techniques to get your site ranking, as blackhat skills can put your website at risk of being penalised by Google.
